#4909 S&W No.2 Army “brevette”, 6”x32RF with fine action and bore
Description
#4909 S&W No.2 Army “brevette”, 6”x32RF with fine action and bore. This licenced copy of the most popular Smith & Wesson revolver during the American Civil War was likely made in Germany or possibly Belgium (altho’ the proof marks are, I think, German) and is a VERY close copy and obviously of the same quality as a Smith &Wesson. The revolver retains 85% of the barrel blue with a 70% density of color, the frame about 15-20% coverage and 20% density. The original wood grips have 80% varnish. The metal is basically smooth except there are very small areas of pitting, as if water drops were left to oxidize, most being toward the rear of the receiver. A very handsome little gun and well worthy of an advance S&W collection that has these brevettes included. About Fine. $1050
Price: $1,050.00
