#4797 Peter Wennig “Cape Gun”, 16ga X 10mm (approx)

Description

#4797 Peter Wennig “Cape Gun”, 16ga X 10mm (approx), with typical black powder bores, the shotgun side with light-medium pitting pretty much the entire length, and the rifle side with light leading and pitting but VERY strong and deep rifling. Action is tight and the locks work well. The metal is very good, no pitting of consequence and has medium bank-note style engraving all over the back-action style locks, triggerguard, receiver, trim pieces, and there is still substantial Damascus twist pattern remaining on the shotgun barrel. Simple open barrel sights with a recessed flip-up tang sight, The wood is very good and the stock is the commonly seen European style cheekrest and checkered forestock w/side swing lever release. Just a nice quality German made 1880s combination gun …and one of the still very good values in antique guns, as these are severely under rated in workmanship and individuality. Missing the post sling swivel on the buttstock, otherwise complete and VG+ overall. $875

Price: $875.00
