#4931 Winchester-Hotchkiss Model 1879/82 Bolt Action repeating rifle, caliber 45/70, First Model

Description

#4931 Winchester-Hotchkiss Model 1879/82 Bolt Action repeating rifle, caliber 45/70, First Model. Fine bore and action, nice wood but having the all-too-often seen “recoil crack” in the stock extending into the wrist area. It is solid and while it doesn’t show any sign of being repaired, it seems to not need any gluing. However if it were to be shot, especially with anything close to maximum advised pressures, then in my opinion it should be taken apart and glued …or at least examined to make that determination. Other than that, it has one scuffed area (photographed) and a number “1” stenciled in paint on the stock. The metal is VERY nice; smooth, with an even plum-brown patina and no mentionable pitting. Standard military style sights and saddle ring. VG+ as described. There are lots of pictures of this neat old Winchester, so if they all do not load up, be sure to e-mail me and I’ll forward them along to you. $1795

Price: $1,795.00
