#4925 Winchester 1876 OBFMCB 40/60WCF, 57XXX(1885).

Description

#4925 Winchester 1876 OBFMCB 40/60WCF, 57XXX(1885). VG action and a “good” bore, being quite heavily leaded up but no bad areas of deep pitting.. The rifling looks rather weak, but it well may scour out to be quite a bit better after the lead build-up is removed. Smooth grey-brown metal with a blotchy appearance, but it is not pitting, just discoloration. Solid wood, but does have a well-done period wrist repair using the single bolt style seemingly so popular in that era. The wood also looks to have been revarnished a time or two, and could definitely be enhanced with a stripping job and good re-oiling. The dust cover appears to be an excellent and correct style reproduction. Standard open buckhorn rear sight and pinched blade front. There are lots of pictures of this neat old Winchester, so if they all do not load up, be sure to e-mail me and I’ll forward them along to you. About Good++/VG as described. $2195
