Colt SAA 1881 44-40 Nickel, Letter

Description

<p>Item number C90217 44-40 SAA. Serial number 72XXX, all matching, 1881. Letters as nickel, shipped to Hibbard Spencer & Co., Chicago, IL. Wood grips numbered to the gun. This one is all original, including grips, tight, no replacement parts, with etched panel pretty much gone. The main drawback is the nickel finish, which is largely flaked away, but with no major pits. I would estimate the amount of remaining original nickel to be about 30%, conservatively, and much of the bare metal showing is medium gray, blending well with the remaining nickel. Other areas of the bare metal are dark and are in contrast with the nickel. The gun is mechanically excellent, no damage or abuse, with no negatives other than the flaking nickel. Overall condition, VG. More pictures available upon request. Scroll down to click on “Ads from seller” to see all of my listings.
