#4986 Colt S/A 7-1/2”x44WCF, 98XXX range, 1882, very good bore and action

Description

#4986 Colt S/A 7-1/2”x44WCF, 98XXX range, 1882, very good bore and action, smooth brown metal with no pitting of consequence, just a few freckles here and there and some minor light pitting on the cylinder which is probably from the old practice of boiling the black powder residue out of the cylinder with the left over evenings coffee. Good markings, but the “COLT FRONTIER SIX-SHOOTER” etched panel is long gone and not a trace remains, although it does have the “44” stamping under the barrel and all the serial numbers match, including the barrel number. VG wood grips with just average wear and no serious abuse.
Just a decent, handsome, and classic example of some cowhands early 1880s sidearm that probably saw a lot of cattle drives. There are lots of pictures of this neat old gun, so if they all do not load up, be sure to e-mail me and I’ll forward them along to you. About VG/VG+ as described. $2995
