#4948 Colt SAA, 7-1/2”x45COLT, 52XXX(1880)
Description
#4948 Colt S/A, 7-1/2”x45COLT, 52XXX(1880) and having a good smooth action and very good bore (about a 6-7 on a scale of 10) just showing moderate wear and no pitting of serious consequence. The exterior is a deep overall dark brown patina with just some light to medium freckle roughness pretty much overall, and that hopefully can be seen in the photos. The walnut grips are obvious replacements from another gun and have almost no wear and still have varnish remaining ….and should be at least aged so as to look more in-character with the revolver as a whole. It does have the correct Bulls-Eye style ejector head and hammer knurling which were correct in this approximate serial range. Overall, just a good example of this Western classic 1880s weapon, and while not having any finish and some pitting, it still is a very collectible piece for a modest collection, and certainly the major investment Blue Chip in handguns of the late 1800s. About VG/VG+ $2850. (Please read sellers rules below ..and thanks for looking!!)
