#3634 Colt 1861 “Special Model” rifled musket, 58cal

Description

#3634 Colt 1861 “Special Model” rifled musket, 58cal with deeply rifled but dirty bore and some blotches of pitting, most of which will probably polish out with some work. Exterior metal about the same with light to moderate spots of pitting and some unfortunate wrench marks on the barrel (see photo). Very good lock markings, semi-modern sling (no value, but looks good on the gun). Unusual rear sight, likely added from the 1866 Allin conversion to give a better long distance range. But it looks to have been on this gun most of its life. Very Good overall, and one of the more desired contractors during the Civil War. $1550

Price: $1,550.00
