this is the S&W first model 2nd issue 1 1/2 7 shot 22 cal
action is very good cycles and holds half cock. Cyclinder will rotate when no pressure on it. there is less than 10% original blue in protected areas rest is patina brown. there is 90 % or better of original silver plate over the brass frame with brass showing on edges and
high points from wear also note silver has a drak aged patina.. all barrel mrkings clear and sharp. has 3 patent dates of 1855 ,1859 and last is 1863 on cyclinder and readable. the Rose wood grips show 90 % orignal varnish with no chips or cracks. circa this peice as evidenced
by serial # 96,xxx about 1864 or 1865. this model was discontinued in 1868 or 1869

this is still a black powder revolver no modern smokless should be fired
with this revolver.
